Couldn't give it 5 stars because it doesn't get to the roots of the hair really good like the CHI did but my hair is DEFINITELY healthier than it was with the CHI! I have ethnic hair and this is good secondary type of flat iron. Still searching for a good first "go-to flat iron" though.

Purchased this iron about 8 months ago. It worked OK, but did not straighten my hair as well as my CHI. I only used the iron a couple of times a week at the most. It stopped heating this last week. I would not recommend it.

I was leery of the prices but in the end it was worth it. I used the iron this morning just to see if I would really get the results that I had read in several blogs/web store fronts/consumer reviews. I am impressed - the thing I did differently in selecting this iron (as opposed to priuor purchases) was making sure I purchased one compatible with my hair type. Great product and I highly recommend it for natural / coarse hair.
